22 Dec 2017 - MYCOPLASMA BOVIS SURVEILLANCE UPDATE
As part of the ongoing Mycoplasma bovis surveillance being conducted by MPI, milk samples submitted to the Gribbles Veterinary network for routine mastitis culture are also assayed for M. bovis. The results of this secondary testing is reported to MPI (MPI will contact any relevant parties should M. bovis be detected).
To ensure accurate information is captured during this surveillance process, milk samples submitted for routine mastitis culture MUST include at least one of the following parameters (ranked by preference):
1.Milk company name and supply number
2.Agribase number
3.FarmsOnLine number
4.Farm landline phone number
5.Property physical address
6.NAIT number
Capturing this information will ensure MPI build an accurate picture of the surveillance data. Your assistance is much appreciated.
